Goal #40: Try Yoga
Okay, I've been practicing Yoga now for about 10 months. Some months
I'm way more consistent than others and I still feel like a beginner and I
definitely can't remember the poses by their sanskrit names. I do know that
Yoga is a yummy treat for my body and it has forced me to slow down and take
deep breaths, and there's a chance I have more muscle in my biceps than before
I started, but I'm really not sure. One of my favorite things about my Yoga
practice is that I can do it at the end of the day when the girls are in bed
and get a nice workout while winding down for the night. My Yoga teacher of
choice is Adriene, as in Yoga with Adriene on YouTube (http://yogawithadriene.com/).
She's delightful but we aren't best friends quite yet. I'm glad I started
incorporating Yoga into my workout routine and I plan to continue making a part
of my life. Just don't hold your breath that I'll ever be able to do handstands
or flying pigeons or one-legged inverted staff poses.
