Goal #10: Visit Three Museums (2/3)
Bean Museum
No, this is not the world's largest museum of exotic legumes, jumping
and otherwise. The Monte L. Bean Life Museum is a natural history museum on
BYU's campus. I vaguely remember going there once or twice when I was young,
but all I can remember from those visits is the smell of taxidermied animals.
It's been remodeled since then and it's a pretty neat little museum, housing a
variety of plants, bugs, and animals. And a tree house slide, where the girls
spent most of our visit. They were lucky and I was brave because I didn't even
bring the stroller and I let them both run around to their hearts' content (and
probably to the other visitors' discontent). We love wildlife and the girls get
a lot of exposure to it through books, zoos, BBC series, and actual nature. So
the Bean Museum is a great way for them to be up close without getting mauled.
