1/5 - Our big backyard
Joey and I had all sorts of big plans
for camping with the girls this summer. We took them camping a couple of times
before I even made this goal (Diamond Fork and Moosehorn) and while they
weren't the greatest experiences we still had high hopes for future camping
trips. But when it came down to it no camping adventure sounded better than a
full night's sleep. Meanwhile, Joey had been wanting to try out his wall tent
so we set it up in the backyard and called it a camping trip. We put the girls
to bed INSIDE the house before sneaking away to our deluxe, stove-heated,
fully-furnished abode and as soon as we fell asleep Emma woke up. That was the
weekend she had a fever/flu. So I spent the rest of the night with Emma in the
guest room while Joey finished out the night in the tent. Hopefully by next
summer the girls will be old enough to experience the true joys of camping.

That's some tent! Camping with little kids is not my favorite thing. So much work. We've kinda made a rule that we don't camp with babies anymore.
