Goal #43: Run 80 Miles in a Month

Call me an overachiever, but I really blew this one out of the water. I underestimated how motivated I would be to accomplish this goal, so when I reached 80 miles by the third week I decided to go for an even 100. Between September  3 and September 30 I ran 102 miles, and possibly more since I always round down and since I got a little lost during my two runs in Scotland and could only guess my distances based on the parts where I wasn't lost. I originally set this goal because I wanted to motivate myself to go on some longer runs (my normal run is 4-6 miles) and I did. My longest run was 10 miles. It's no marathon, or even a half-marathon, but I'm convinced my body wasn't meant to run long distances.
Some interesting facts: Over the month my feet took me past deer, skunks, rabbits, turkeys (both wild and domesticated), hawks, cows, sheep, goats, horses, chickens, one donkey, and an actor bear that I never actually saw but that I know lives in the house with the high fences and strange noises. For 33 of the 102ish miles I ran, I pushed at least one but usually both of the girls (that's 40 extra pounds!). I ran my last 12ish miles in Scotland and it was awesome.
One of the parts where I got lost.
But I didn't mind a bit.
